MANDATE OF HEAVEN A WORK IN PROGRESS
The amount of work for this play is astounding. I had said it was like an album in scope and it most definitely is. I have been cooking away at it for a year, but efforts are intensified now there is a timeline. So it didn’t go on at LAMAMA but it gets to go on at an amazing event for a great cause to educate about and promote the Rights of Nature, #RONA16.
My current focus now all the props are taken care of is the video work. The last few weeks have been on Act 1 the most complex video making. It is more like a mini film clocking in at 30 min approx. Stock footage has made life easier, but it is still a case of download files, convert files and import and I am still only using movie maker. I still only have one timeline of video image and the audio that goes with the image with option for one more stream of audio. What I have just had to do to normalize the levels from archival footage and creative commons, is finish the video, export it, convert it to .mov file, import into Ableton (with Quicktime as I am a PC gal) and then normalize the audio with compression, limiting, eq and automations. Then re-export the audio, re-import into movie maker, delete the previous audio and republish the file. It is now complete. I can’t wait to get a new computer and pro video software. After this is over I want to make a few more videos with Atmospherica and Contemplating Buddha songs.

Now I begin Act 2 and Act 3 video.
For the live performance there will be a bunch of audio, that has been a fun process toO, listening to audio books, chopping them up, selecting clips, recording the Narrator , choosing other ambient supporting samples. Lots of fun and lots of repetition.
I have one thing to finish my Minister- a final purchase to make him come alive. And the voice work and movement choreography to devise. fun. 7 weeks to go. There will one song. Hope to see you there.
Also by the end of this month I hope to hear if my Hillscene Application was a success, if so the hills will get to see some wacky Catherine Meeson Performance Art in a work called ‘Time on the Line’, no guessing what that is about, have been rambling on about it too. Unfortunately it was not, but I may still present the work somehow somewhere.
