Old 8 track Recording

Having an epic file sort and considering tracks that never really made it into the public realm. This one has been played a bit out there, but not with others just guitar and voice. This is a recording I did after doing an Introduction to Recording and Mixing at Footscray Community Arts center with Darren Gee. It was deemed not good enough standard to get me into Tafe though? This was also when I got introduced to midi technology but could not understand it, as I had never used a computer other than at library for email. Back then it was Cakewalk, for me double dutch.

So here is the first of a few tracks that will be revitalized, if possible, if the others don’t shape up I will just have to re record them. This tune is meant for a band scenario.

‘Heart of Hearts’ is an old guitar track written in 1992, words came later 1997/1998 but a favourite from a recording circa 1999 at Footscray Community Arts Centre, old analogue room, onto Tascam 8 track then exported onto DAT tape, and later 2012 exported from Dat to Pro Tools , bounced and then into Propellerhead, (quite a journey for this wee tune). The bass is a bit clunky, its a bit pitchy, no click track but it’s authentic like a live performance in real time, cause that is what it is, bass, guitar, voice, percussive drums and chimes, No mixing just the raw files it was, in stereo wav, but I have eq’d a wee bit and put a mild reverb on. Will re record it one day. Percussion drums played by Adam Messenger, all other guitar, bass, voice, recording Catherine Meeson Copyright 1999 and 2014. One day I will have a band.
