COME BACK VIDEO PREMIERE- THE CALL OF OMA ALBUM
Catherine Meeson has released another beautiful cinematic electro orchestral/classical film clip featuring Oma the Ancient clan mother in ‘Come Back’ off the forthcoming The Call of Oma album. Oma hales from the northern hemisphere from the time of the last Ice Age. She is a messenger for and embodiment of the great Earth Mother, who calls us back to the oceans, the source of all life on Earth. Oma calls us to remember the oceans have supported life for at least 1 billion years. Released to highlight ‘World Oceans Day’ June 8th, we are called to remember our foundation, as we too are beings who emerged from the watery womb of our mother. For our mother to exist her bones and her blood had to be built upon the shores of time and tide, like us all emerging out of the greater body of the Earth mother. This is the lineage of the mother. The waters of the world have long been associated with chaos, the unconscious, mystery, rebirth, creation, renewal and purification.
It is said that we live within a new geological age ‘The Anthropocene’, the age of humans acting like major geological forces upon the face of the Earth. It is also said that our current rate of species loss has hastened the progress of the 6th great extinction. The album hopes to inspire action and right relation through its cinematic/ epic feel, and it’s inspiring musical mythology, referencing earth science and the latest archaeological findings as well as adapting elements of ancient mythos, to give a prophetic and timely message; a warning, a plea, a ‘last stand for life’ itself.
Catherine Meeson is a self produced independent singer song writer/ composer and performance artist, embracing the art of film and techno bardism, to augment the core messages or her work. These include environmental themes, spirituality, mythology, relationship, the divine feminine, ethics and existential matters. These larger themes permeate all her body of creative work.
